Aimee Bida has been in marketing for several years, but her love for marketing began as a passion for design. She attended Cooper Union in New York where she graduated with a degree in design and started working in design management. Aimee has always been super strategic and has liked inserting herself into projects as early as possible to understand them better and determine the best approach. She’s always been consumer-focused and puts the user first, tackling each project as though it was a project she’s trying to solve. No matter where she’s worked, she’s always approached projects from that position.
While she got her start in design, in hindsight Aimee Bida sees that marketing was always a part of her life and a component of design that she’d already been utilizing. By marrying the two together, and crossing over naturally from design into marketing, she can implement her knowledge of design to fuel her marketing efforts and help build a compelling brand for her clients.
Aimee’s favorite part of working in marketing is being able to recognize and identify “white space” opportunities that can help move a business forward in a strategic way. It’s exciting being able to help brands identify their narrative and help them share it to grow their customer base.
Aimee Bida understands that marketing itself has changed vastly and continues to do so continually. No longer are companies finding success marketing from the top down, because what engages customers and what draws them in now is understanding them as a consumer and their consumer journey. Rather than casting a wide net to pull in whomever they can catch, marketers now need to go out and meet their consumers where they are. This strategy of integrating storytelling into brand marketing creates an evolving brand that can generate strong connections with their audiences. By being human-centric and using design thinking and philosophy, brands can connect with their consumer on an empathetic level. Marketing today comes down to knowing your customer and understanding what they’re seeking.
Aimee Bida likes connecting brands to people, especially brands that matter and are doing good in the world. She particularly enjoys working with brands focused on sustainability and those trying to make the world a better place. Aimee sees how people are interacting and communicating with technology these days, and she finds the fast-paced developments and changes to be interesting and exciting.
